Written by

Let me start first by saying terms shower head diverter and shower head splitter are technical terms that have something to do with the parts of shower heads.

Shower head splitter is not something that splits you head, nor is shower head diverter one of this things that try to divert the attention in your head. Joking aside, shower head diverter and shower head splitters are two essential and rather useful parts of shower heads that can enable you to divert and split the water current coming to one shower nozzle by creating an additional one or more shower heads making the showering experience even more customizable and satisfying (shower panel reviews).

The common mistake that many make is that shower head diverter and showerhead splitter are one and the same thing. It is true that they are very similar, but they serve for different kinds of purposes. Shower head diverter is the first in line and its job is to divert water in one or more different ways by using shower trim. Thereby enables you to have more shower heads installed.

Next off, the shower head splitter comes in handy. The current is already diverted in many different ways, what is left is to propel this water into different pipes that end with a showerhead and this is the job of a shower head splitter. Where the mistake comes from is in the fact that shower nozzle diverter and shower nozzle splitter are usually combined in the same device that performs the jobs of both diverting the water and splitting it into different pipes that deliver water to showerheads.

If you are out shopping for one, you can either ask about showerhead diverter or shower head splitter and they will probably give you the same thing. Luckily for you, it is probably the thing you actually do want.

If you want to have more knowledge about best shower heads look around Walk In Shower Ideas. Diverting and splitting the water current coming to one showerhead is as straight forward as it gets. You can divert water from your main shower head into your child shower head. The technic has been proven to work early on and there is no need to improve it so it is likely that will stick on in the future.

The problem associated with the technic is always about water pressure and the ability of the primary pipe to deliver enough water in short amount of time. Thinking about it logically, if you split the primary water current in five different water currents each one will deliver only one fifth of the water in relation with what a single shower head may deliver. But what is desired by the consumers is that each shower system had has more water than that.

In order to achieve faster current and deliver more water in shorter time, the water pressure must be increased to propel the water to the primary pipe or shower body sprays. In such a way, this seemingly easily solved technical problem becomes a major concert in Walk In Shower Designs. Installing a shower nozzle diverter and shower nozzle splitter is as simple as it gets, but increasing the water pressure is a bit trickier. You can't just fix this yourself, you have to hire an expert to it for you. What needs to be done is to adjust the water piping settings from the water supply to your house and this takes a lot of work.

On the other hand, if you want to avoid the issue you can just have one fifth of the water current delivered by five different showerheads. Nonetheless, the underlying problem of increasing the pressure may put an additional strain not only on the primary piping but also on shower head diverter and shower head splitter. They will also have to deal with increase water pressure and increased water flow. Luckily, shower head diverters and splitters in Walk In Shower are designed to be able to endure these kinds of pressures but there is a limit to everything. If you increase the water pressure too much, you may find out that shower head splitter is not as durable as stated on the box.

Having multiple showering heads can definitely make shower experience better, walk in shower reviews can help you with that. You can customize where there are and at what angle the water from each of them is hitting your body during the showering. These kinds of showerheads are usually semi-static, so you can just put them anywhere you like to. However, if for example you have five different Rainfall Shower Heads your body is up for quick washing if of course you increased the water flow by increasing the water pressure. This takes a lot of work, but it is well worth it because you may spend a day or two doing it but in the end you will have a shower every day and enjoy the fruits of your labor daily. Multiple shower heads doesn't only feel better, but they look great and can give your bathroom the high-tech look.

Does a diverter allow for both the shower head and hand held to be both on at the same time? In other words, if I am showering, I don't want the water to turn off above me if I turn on the handheld unit.

Some of the shower diverters do that, but in a majority, they divert water from on option to another.

What you really want is shower splitter and as it's name says it splits water to many options.

I have a hand held shower and want to add a second. Can the diverter, not a splitter, be mounted on the faucet where the current shower is mounted.

Margareta hi, yes the diverter generally (depends on your faucet) can be mounted, but this way you won't be able to use both shower heads at the same time.
