What to Look for in a Bluetooth Shower Speaker
- Waterproof rating. IPX7 means the speaker survives submersion up to one meter for 30 minutes, and IP67 adds dust protection. For a shower, either is plenty. A merely water-resistant speaker may be fine if it is kept away from direct spray.
- Mounting. A suction cup keeps the speaker on a tile or glass wall, while a carabiner or hook lets you hang it from a rail or shower caddy. Floating models are safe in the bath.
- Sound quality. Some speakers favor loud output, and others favor bass. Reading owner reviews is the best way to judge. Models with TWS pairing let you add a second speaker for stereo.
- Battery life. A normal battery life is fine for daily showers, but a larger battery is better for camping. Remember that bigger batteries take longer to charge.
- Durability. A bathroom is slippery, and you may drop the speaker. Choose one that can handle a fall and look at the build materials, not just the appearance.
- Extras. Many speakers take calls, and some add FM radio, a clock or lights. Check the features against your own list of requirements.
- Size and price. A small, lightweight speaker is easy to carry and does not take up space. Prices range from a few dollars to more than $50, and you can find a very good model for around $20.
